Our Teachers

All of our teachers have successfully completed and passed Music Together®'s intensive training program. Our teachers  are also required to participate and pass a 10-week apprecticeship program. Teachers continue to educate themselves by attending on-going, teacher-training songs and skills workshops provided by Music Together Worldwide.

Our teachers are all very passionate about music and the development of children. They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Betty Corona is the owner and director of Betty's Music Together. Betty has been educating families in the joy and benefits of music making since November of 2003 after completing her training with the Center for Music and Young Children. She has also been awarded Music Together Certification Level 1 for having demonstrated outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy and parent education. Her passion and enthusiasm has been shared with thousands of Music Together families over the years. In addition to her expertise as an early childhood music educator, Bettys studies voice, plays guitar and ukulele, is a proud member of the Buffalo Choral Arts Society and continues her training through ongoing workshops.

Music has always been a big part of Colleen's life.  While growing up, she participated in various singing groups in school and at church.  She also studied flute and piccolo and was drum major for her high school marching band.  Colleen has studied dance for most of her life and holds a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy with a Minor in Psychology and a Minor in Dance. Her previous and current teaching experiences include gymnastics for children 18 months to 18 years and dance instruction for ages 3 to 18. After enjoying Music Together as a Mom for several semesters, Colleen decided that she would love to share her love of music and movement with other families.  She has been a beloved teacher of Betty's Music Together classes since September of 2007. Colleen is driven by her love of sharing music, movement and her ukulele with children and their families.  She lives in Amherst with her husband and 2 children.

Amara is a music therapist working in the Buffalo area. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in music therapy and trombone at The State University of New York at Fredonia and completed research on the topic of media and community music therapy. Amara is excited to teach music together because she remembers how important music was to her as a child. Amara currently works with People Inc. but also worked as a music therapist with Buffalo Hearing and Speech. Amara loves to play guitar, ukulele, and sing with her coffee shop girl band “The Alms.” Amara is excited to begin her journey with Music Together and to continue to share the gift of music with many families to come!

Known to hundreds of children as "Miss Kristen", co-director of "The Family Room" in Amherst, Kristen joins us with over 20 years of experience working with young children. Adding Music Together to her repertoire has added another layer of education to share with children and parents. Kristen received her MS in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Buffalo State College. “Miss Kristen” believes music and rhythm is an actual intelligence and the cornerstone to children's learning. Kristen has also been sharing her vocal talent both on and off the stage since the age of 7. She has sung professionally and recorded with local musicians in Buffalo, Boston and Los Angeles for Capitol Records. Kristen has been a registered Music Together teacher since April 2009 and has shared her love of teaching with countless numbers of families and is a treasured member of our team. Now, many years later, she is more in love with the songs and experience Music Together brings to children and families.

Colleen started her journey as a Music Together mom when her oldest child was 6 months old and fell in love with the program. Music was an important part of her childhood, and as she grew she took piano and vocal lessons for years and was involved in choral ensembles and musical theater. Colleen holds a Master of Education in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Northern Arizona University. She has a variety of teaching experiences, and in Spring of 2014 she completed her Music Together Teacher Training and began her journey as an amazing Music Together teacher. In addition to teaching Mixed-Age classes, Colleen also teaches Music Together In School at the Amherst Nursery School under the direction of Betty's Music Together. She loves being silly, having fun with preschoolers and seeing families have music in their lives! She lives in Amherst with her husband, three kids and two dogs.

Music has surrounded Inga since birth, having been born into a Latvian heritage, rich with folksongs that her parents sang and played for her. Inga started playing violin at age 4, and hasn't stopped! She has a Bachelors degree in Violin Performance from Ithaca College, and a Masters in performance from SUNY StonyBrook. Inga is not only a performer, but has years of teaching experience in various capacities. She often serves as a substitute violinist for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and you can also find her in the orchestra pit at Shea's Performing Arts Center. Inga also loves to sing and play guitar and piano, and has been in several folk/rock groups.  Currently, you can also find Inga touring with 10,000 Maniacs. Inga has been a valued member of our team since April of 2014 . She has fallen in love with Music Together, and is excited about being a part of the Music Together family. She lives in North Buffalo, with her husband and three children.
